I began creating mosaics in 2003, after taking a (life-changing!) mosaic workshop with master artist Isaiah Zagar at The Magic Gardens in Philadelphia, PA. My larger public work can be seen on walls around Narberth and Philadelphia, PA. I have also created permanent installations in several elementary schools and many private residences.
After closing Sweet Mabel Studio in August 2020, I changed course and gave away the bulk of my supplies, keeping only a small collection of lightweight materials like beads and string. I quickly discovered a love for free-hand embroidery and a tolerance for chasing beads.
For over 12 years I was an artist-in-residence and manager at Sweet Mabel Studio where I taught mosaics and found object art to adults and kids, hosted art parties, and ran art camp. Health safety concerns related to Covid-19 lead to closing the studio in August 2020.
I now create one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry and embroidered second-hand clothing and upcycled items for sale, using salvaged and donated materials as much as possible. You can find some of my work for sale at Sweet Mabel Store in Narberth.
I take great pleasure in the process of creating at my whimsy.
